Words Of Wisdom On Peace




Peace? What with the problems every day we see in the world on the news, and with the struggle to stay ahead, and the anxiety and stress we have to deal with due to the circumstances of our lives, peace seems like a long lost wisdom for some other life.

All of these reasons, though, are exactly why we need peace in our lives. The actual experience of peace can instantly reduce stress and anxiety and their aftereffects. Peace can instantly add to the quality of our current experience and to our well being. It can allow us to enjoy the struggle and flow of life, rather than stress over it.

Here is one of the most effective forms of self help wisdom. Practice peace. Learn to give it to yourself and the world around you. Give yourself peace, and do it on purpose. You don’t have to wait for everything to be going your way or perfectly before you can feel peace.

There are actually several ways to give yourself more peace. Here we’ll outline just one simple method. It will take just three minutes or so a day. Will you give yourself three minutes a day to start flooding your life with more peace?

One simple method is called Peacefully Remaining. You sit alone for 3 minutes and peacefully remain with whatever comes across your awareness. You can have your eyes open or closed, it doesn’t matter. You can do this at home in the morning or when you get back from work, you can do it in the car or at work at lunchtime.

For these 3 minutes, you allow or remain peacefully with ANY thoughts you are having. You don’t try to change them or resist them. You allow whatever feelings and emotions you are having as well. You just notice them and allow them. No trying to make them different. Whatever arises in your awareness you aim to allow it to be there without struggling or resistance.

We are often at war with what is. We are often manipulating and trying to change our consciousness and our thoughts and feelings and circumstances. This is a simple but powerful process to just allow things to be the way they are for just a few minutes. This is part of what peace is ” allowance. You dont have to do anything to feel peace but stop resisting. Just breathe and allow things to be the way they are.

Peace is a powerful energy to allow into your awareness. This is one way of starting to access it. You can always pick up after the three minutes and start struggling and resisting everything again. But give yourself a few minutes of peace a day and see how that begins to change everything in your life. Giving peace can change the world. Start with yourself.
