How to Find Happiness
Are you happy? Really, truly happy? Not many people can say they are. Some people would probably describe themselves (or their lives) as completely miserable, while others would say they are mostly happy but not about everything.
What do you think you would need in order to become completely happy? A lot of money? Better friends? More success? A thinner body?
How about: A CHOICE?
A lot of interesting studies have been done about happiness, and they reveal something eye-opening. People can be happy in nearly any situation, even really bad situations. How is this possible?
Happy people CHOOSE to be happy. That doesn’t mean everything in their lives is perfect. They simply choose to focus more on the good stuff. They think positively and try to be productive in all areas of their lives.
If you want to be happier than you are now, try these simple tips for starters:
- Do things you love as often as possible.
- Find a positive spin on every situation.
- Feed your mind happy thoughts daily.
- Demonstrate love and compassion as often as possible.
- Give generously of your time, money and energy to help others.
- Make your self-care a high priority.
- Get enough sleep and make time for recreation with friends and family.
- Treat your body like a temple with proper nutrition and exercise.
- Develop your spiritual self through meditation, prayer and journaling.
And the number one tip: CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY. Every morning when you wake up, say aloud, “I choose to be happy today.” Then do it.
