It’s ironic that HappinessHints.com was born during one of the least happy periods of my life – but then again, don’t great gifts usually come along with great trials in life?

I’m Wendy Betterini, founder of HappinessHints.com and I’m so HAPPY that you’re here! I created this website after a flash of inner clarity helped me understand who I am and what I’m meant to be doing here on this earth.

For the previous few months before this flash of clarity hit me, I was in a pretty dark place. My career wasn’t doing well, money was extremely tight, and I was desperately searching for solutions to problems that seemed too big for me to handle on my own. Needless to say, I was miserable, stressed out and frustrated.

One day I decided to get clear about what was REALLY happening with my career. Prior to this months-long blockage, my career had been great, plenty of work to do and plenty of money coming in. But over a period of a few months it just died out and I couldn’t figure out why.

I decided that I needed to conceive a new “purpose” for my life – a new direction for my career. I sat down with journal and pen in hand and asked myself two questions:

If I could spend my days doing anything I wanted, what would I enjoy the most?

If I could give just one thing to everyone in the world right now, what would it be?

A few possibilities popped into my head, but none of them felt quite right. I kept thinking about it off and on for the entire day – and suddenly in the afternoon it hit me – I just want to help people be HAPPY.

Helping people feel happy is what makes ME feel happiest!

The vision for this website was born in my heart in the moment I realized that, and I wasted no time in making it a reality on the world wide web. Here are the notes I jotted in my journal for the purpose of this site:

VISION:
To be the most comprehensive, helpful happiness resource on the internet.

GOALS:
- To positively impact millions of lives.

- To provide helpful, inspiring information that helps people change their lives for the better.

- To provide clarity, insight and guidance on ways to create true happiness.

- To have fun doing it.

I wish I could tell you that all of my struggles vanished the moment I created this website, but that hasn’t been the case . . . yet! I do believe it will all work out – and no matter what I am grateful that I have been shown a new “mission” that I can throw my heart, mind, soul and creativity into.

For now, that’s enough.
